There are currently a large variety of different types of vitamins available to buy, which can help you stay healthy. Such vitamins, as well as other very important minerals, are also known as micronutrients. It is these nutrients the body requires a steady influx of, to ensure all biochemical reactions are fulfilled of them.

Micronutrients assist the body’s growth and helps with food digestion whilst increasing alertness levels. They also make sure your body is more resistant to infectious diseases and helps the digestion of fats, protein and carbohydrates. Vitamins and minerals also act as an impetus which is helping speed up many important chemical reactions body cells

It is true most minerals and vitamins are not directly produced by our body. It is for this simple reason these nutrients are sought after in food or in supplements.

Overall there are 13 vitamins, four of which are fat soluble with the remaining nine considered to be water-soluble. Whilst the fat solubles has the ability to be stored in various parts of your body, water soluble vitamins do not get stored in any great quantity, so it is even more important your body receives a regular influx of these vitamins routinely.

Some varieties of fat soluble vitamins which can be stored within your body include vitamins A, D, E, K, and will dissolve within fatty tissue but need to react with bile in order to be successfully absorbed.

Vitamins which are considered to be water soluble include C and the eight B vitamins. These all dissolve in water so it is important to be careful they are not washed out of the food during preparation and cooking.

If you have a balanced and nutritious diet, you should already be getting all the vitamins and minerals you need. It is often easier said than done to get adequate amounts these nutrients, and for this reason it is often easier to add vitamins supplements to your diet.

Being aware of what these signs are, and understanding what they mean, can ease your nerves if you find yourself experiencing these symptoms and panicking.

For example, one common, early sign of pregnancy that most women experience, that might give them a scare, is spotting. Bleeding often occurs one to two weeks after conception, and it is more commonly known as implantation bleeding. This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. The cause of this form of bleeding is simple. Once the fertilized egg implants itself to the uterine wall, a small discharge of blood will occur. This will cause spotting that may lead you to believe something is wrong, but it is normal and very common in the majority women.

It shows as pink or brown discharge, and around one third of all women experience this. It will be spotting and not a steady flow, so it is not to be confused with your period. If you’re nearing your period, you should take a pregnancy test to be sure this isn’t confused with a menstrual cycle.

But as you go through pregnancy week by week you will experience many new sensations. Commonly, you will be repelled by certain smells and tastes at the beginning, as you digestion slows down. Cravings are the opposite of aversions, so expect those too. Swollen breasts will also be a physical symptom that can be joined by mood swings and acne. Around ten to twelve weeks a diagnostic test for Down syndrome is usually performed that carries a risk of one percent for miscarriage. You will think your due date is so far away, but time passes quickly with all the baby details that you will be taking care of. Pregnancy is base on a forty week calendar and a baby will be considered full term if he is delivered between three weeks before your due date, to two weeks after. Between eight and twelve weeks you will probably have an ultrasound when measurements can be taken of the foetus’s to determine the most accurate delivery date. This measurement of the foetus goes from his or her, crown-to-rump.
