clinical2Clinical negligence has become a very common, serious problem around the world. But, just because your condition has gotten worse after medical treatment, that doesn’t mean it was due to negligence. There are several basic reasons why someone might file a claim for clinical negligence.

Your health care provider should perform a detailed examination. If there aren’t any obvious reasons for your illness or medical problems, tests should be ran to try to determine the cause. Once the course of treatment is determined it should be provided in a timely and competent manner.

If your condition requires the services of a medical specialist, you should be referred to someone without a lengthy delay. You should always be informed of any risks associated with any medications or procedures. And, your health care provider should carefully monitor your condition.

You might need to file a claim for compensation for clinical negligence if you truly feel that your health care provider has failed in providing you with the best possible care. But, you won’t win a claim on your belief alone. You must be able to show the evidence that is needed to prove clinical negligence.

Unacceptable medical care not only results in physical pain and illness, it can also result in psychological injuries. It can cause temporary pain and suffering, or pain and disabilities that you will have to live with for the rest of your life.

In many cases, clinical negligence suits are settled long before they every reach a court trial. Most health care providers will offer to make an out of court settlement, especially if they feel that you have enough evidence to convince a jury that they provided inadequate medical care.

Medical Testing is a Good Thing

medicinePharmaceuticals is a massive industry that at the last count was worth well in excess of $600 Billion every year. The industry is extremely highly regulated due to the dangers that are inherent in prescription medicines.

When new drugs appear on the market they don’t just happen to be there because they have some kind of effect on the symptoms that they are trying to alleviate. Before drugs can be sold or prescribed they have to undergo an extremely rigorous amount of testing. These tests can take many years to complete but they are mandatory due to the bodies ability to produce unwanted side effects when it comes into contact with new medicines.

You may have seen advertisements calling for ‘healthy volunteers.’ These people are wanted by the pharmaceutical testing laboratories to help evaluate what effects and possible side effects new medicines might have on the human body.

Before drugs get to these stages they are tested extensively in labs on rats, mice and guinea pigs. However, there is still sometimes unwelcome problems when testing on human patients for the first time.

You may remember a news story about some people taking part in a drugs trial in the UK in 2005. They were given intravenous drugs that produced terrible swelling of the whole body, particularly the head and hands. All of the people survived what would have been a very scary experience. Only the very best pharmaceutical recruiters would have been able to recruit for new volunteers for that test.

Next time you are in the drug store, spare a thought for all the hard work and research that has gone into your little pot of pills.

Things that healthcare executive recruiters should keep in mind

workersRecruitment is always the basic step in expanding your business, and good recruiters are always one of the biggest assets for an organization. However, the healthcare executive recruiters should take care of several other things, which the normal corporate recruiters may never need to worry about.

Usually in the corporate field, the recruitment needs are seldom shaky, and usually there’s a good time margin to seek and recruit good people, but the recruitment needs of the healthcare services firms are instant, on most occasions. This means that healthcare executive recruiters should cope-up with the task to higher good staff also instantly, whenever the need arises.

In order to assess somebody in a very short span of time, you must check his/her individual qualities, and also the spirit to work in a team. Many a time, those who’re excellent as an individual don’t really work equally well in a team, and even de-motivate others causing havoc in the organization as a whole.

So, the healthcare executive recruiters should take good care that they don’t recruit such individuals in the organization, despite their excellent skills. Moreover, they must also remember that the applicants have an intention to serve the organization for a comparatively longer period of time. Otherwise, you’ll end up finding another replacement for the person you just recruited, in a few months time again. Furthermore, don’t forget that mis-hiring always causes greater damage to the financial strength of the organization as well.

A36W5JJust when you think marital strife isn’t bad enough, studies have shown increasing bad health among women who are under marriage stress. Unfortunately for women, their partners go scot-free from health woe while they have to suffer from factors that increase heart attack and diabetes. You can also say bye to your shapely figure because stress caused by rocky marriage can add excess fats to your belly. Do you still want to give up on your marriage? If you’re having doubts, then it is the end of the road for you since bad relationship is considered toxic by experts and sticking with it is also toxic to your health. It is the depression that follows the split that causes women’s health to dwindle.

Finding the perfect partner is the ultimate dream for most women since it brings them total happiness but those who are in a relationship are more likely to develop depression than those who are not. Stress hormones of committed women increase when faced with anger and hostility within marriage. High blood pressure is the most apparent effect of a bad marriage. There were certain studies done on a group of people who are religious that showed divorce is less likely to happen but a lot of them are unhappy in their marriage. Although, health habits are major factors in developing health problems, personal factor still plays a part.

Some doctors who are aware of the study are now debating whether women who come forward with health problems should also be recommended to seek psychological treatment aside from medical treatment to keep stress down. Stress experienced by women who are in a bad relationship can lead to a more serious condition like heart attack. Men are less likely to develop stress problems after break-up because women are more attached to the relationship and emotions are more nurtured by women when in a relationship. This should not label men as heartless. It is just that women have more emotional investment when it comes to commitment.

Women should be in a supportive environment when experiencing marital problems to avoid depression and stress that can lead to heart problems. Channelling your frustrations through exercise will not only improve your health but also boosts your spirits. You have to take one step at a time and seek counselling to avoid stress.

Aqua Power

aquaA lot of different medicines have already been invented, and most of them have helped in solving different forms of illnesses. However, there are also cases wherein a kind of illness could be solved in the simplest ways. Sometimes, people forget the things that are just readily available to us. One of the most effective to remedy health problems is water therapy.

8-10 glasses of water is the amount that a person should take a day. Because of the activities done in a day, this is just enough for a person to gain back the water that is released through sweating or urination. Water therapy is done for cleansing one’s system-for washing out toxins and bacteria from the body, and of course for preventing dehydration. If one takes around 1 to 1.5 liters (to be taken throughout the day, not one go at a time) of water a day, the body will then release the water by means of urination or sweating. This cleansing process will help the person avoid common body complications like acidity and constipation.

One must be warned, however, that this kind of therapy could still pose dangers to one’s health if not done properly. The person undergoing water therapy needs to make sure that the water used is clean. Bacteria in the water could lead the person to more complications. Water poisoning could happen if the 1.5 liters of water is not taken in moderation throughout the day.

Water therapy is perhaps one of the cheapest forms of cleansing that is available to everyone. Doing it properly promises great results-one could regularly cleanse his/her body and it could also help prevent illnesses.

Depression and its effects

depressedDepression is life changing. There is no other way around it. It is a debilitating condition that affects you, your family, your job, and your friends. But for some reason or another, most people that have depression do not seek treatment, feeling instead that they are not worth the trouble, or not wanting the to admit that there is something wrong, even when most people with depression find at least some relief with very little effort.

There are several things to watch for if you believe that you, or someone that you know, has depression. Although the symptoms vary from person to person, a lot of people suffering from depression often report a feeling of hopelessness, of walking through life without a purpose. Even things that used to bring them joy, such as family or friends, they’ve lost interest in. A lot of people with depression will suffer from sleep disturbances such as insomnia, or waking up frequently in the night.

Depression also causes physical pain as well. You may experience muscle pain or weakness when suffering from an episode and fatigue is common. Some people with depression report frequent headaches or days in which they feel as if they have the flu. It can become increasingly worse with time because each day of missed work or time away from your family can send a lot of people into a spiral of thought of failure and worthlessness causing them to become a recluse, and only worsening their feelings of loneliness.

There can still be good days, and that is why a lot of people mistake clinical depression with ‘the blues’, but if those feelings of despair and hopelessness last more than a week at a time, than it may be time to seek treatment. Treatments vary from patient to patient as well as responses. Some times it just helps to have an outside party to speak to, such as a therapist or psychiatrist, many of which your family practice physician should be able to point you towards. If ‘talk therapy’ doesn’t help, it may be time to consider medication, since depression is not just a state of mind.

You will not just ‘get over it’, its is a chemical imbalance in the brain, something that you can not control or fix, that causes the feelings of despair and disturbances in your sleep. Medications can help to balance out the chemical reactions, helping you to see things clearly and be able to focus on fixing the problems that may have led to the depressed state. There are literally hundreds of different types of medications out there for depression, and for what is known as bi-polar disease, a different form of depression that causes manic episodes, so talking to your doctor about options is a must.

Make take several attempts to find a medication, or combination of medications to fix the imbalance. The important thing is to follow the directions very precisely since altering the way you take most of the medications can lead to seizures or other potentially life threatening conditions. Talk to your doctor if you are having thoughts of suicide, since they may just be a reaction to the medications.
